Friday the 7th of November 2014 saw the Windaroo Valley State High School hold a fete to celebrate its 20th birthday, and what a great fete it was.

Our Club was there to help with the celebrations.  We made steak sandwiches, sausages on bread and chicken kebabs to help feed the hungry hordes.  We also cooked the free sausage sizzle for all those who pre-purchased show rides.
Here Lyn supervises our newest members Hilton and Scott on the finer points of BBQ implement handling.

The afternoon commenced with set up around 2.00pm and we were up and cooking for the 3.00pm "school is over" bell.  The predicted hungry horde tested the rides and enjoyed the musical performances before sampling our wares.  But come they did.  Past member, and local State MP, Mark Boothman even joined in with serving the crowd. (He even co-sponsored the fireworks which helped the night finish with a bang).

The school has never held a fete in the past and this was a one off event.  It was a great night with the students who attended being very polite and a credit to the school.  In fact the afternoon and evening was a fantastic time for the school community as a whole with many past students also attending.

Congratulations to the School staff and students who put the fete together, and may Windaroo Valley State High School have many more great birthdays to come.
