The inaugural Rum Rump and Rumba Festival was held last Saturday night.

After a wet set up in the morning, the day cleared by midday.  All stalls and vendors were set up and ready to go for the 4.00pm start.  Some families arrived before 4.00pm and there was a steady inflow of people from then until 6.15pm.

The dancing (and music) was spectacular.  The Rum tasting went down a treat, and the steak sandwiches were plentiful and filling.  For those who did not want to eat steak there was a great variety of delicious alternatives.

It was great to see the people of the Beenleigh area coming together as a community and enjoying the great facility that is the newly opened Beenleigh Town Square.  Everyone was enjoying themselves until the rain arrived around 6.15pm.  Those who could find shelter stayed for the prize draws which were followed by a spectacular fireworks display.  The rain only stayed for half an hour, and those patrons who saw it through continued to enjoy the festivities until close at 9.00pm.

Many who attended provided positive feedback to Club members.
